How is everybody holding up during this time?

It's been four weeks for me. I haven't left the house much during this time besides getting essential things. My mother passed away during the time (not related to the virus), so it's been hard grieving as it's all I've had to think about lately.

Primarily working from home, so that's been keeping me somewhat busy though it only takes up maybe 4 hours of my time weekly.

DOLOWORLD.

The quarantine caused me to get off the road for tour and my job I usually work stopped operations. Just been a helping hand for a construction company. Hoping this virus passes us by soon.

work in a meat packing plant. So if you have watched the news at all about the situation in these plants allow me to say:

Was PA'ing across NYC after a slow few months. Rona essentially brought me back to square 1.

Oh well. Finally started watching Twin Peaks and loving it so far.

More importantly, watching my mental health closely. ;)

For my one job currently office closed but had 2 projects at home and nothing since then. Still going to my 2nd job weekly.

Not surprisingly not being able to do what I could do feels bad.

Unfortunate that you guys have to work under the current conditions.
tell me about it. We got labeled as critical infrastructure through executive order a few days ago so the plant is using that as an excuse to not shut down even though they absolutely need to.

Is daily testing being administered at your plant? Based on the news I'm doubting it, but just makes things worse as I know there's little you can do besides quit which is hard given the current situation.

They’re doing daily temperature screenings. I asked during the meeting yesterday about the possibility of testing the entire plant because if just one of us is asymptomatic we can easily pass the screening and infect everyone in the plant.

I did not get an answer outside of “you can schedule a test at the community college even if you don’t show symptoms.”

Motherfucker that wasn’t my question.

Yeah, daily temperature screening is pointless cause it can spread from those that are asymptomatic like you said. It's something cause people will show up sick, but it's the last resort in this case.

Also the infected person hasn’t been to work since the 19th. They got the results yesterday and we all just found that same day.

I fear that even if they are going to do testing that it will wind up like the JBS plant in Greely, Colorado. Where they got 6,000 tests and tested all of the supervisors 40% of those tests came back positive so they just stopped doing them.

As an independent contractor, it's been brutal. I was booked pretty much through the end of summer for a feature, but that production stopped about a week into some pre-pro. It's been mostly sitting around with only a few small jobs coming through to keep the lights on. Luckily it's looking like next week I'll be able to get going on an assembly (remotely, which was the plan anyway), so hopefully once the wheels get turning on that it'll be business as usual for me. Once I'm back working in an office at least I'll have a good reason to make sure producers aren't breathing down my neck. :p

Hope everyone is holding up the best they can. weird weird times.
