WWE has had to cancel the shows planned for Innsbruck, Austria and Istanbul, Turkey this weekend, due to the effects of the Iceland volcano.

The Istanbul show has been rescheduled for November, and the hope is that the Innsbruck show will be too.

WWE issused the following statement:

Due to air traffic disruptions caused by the volcanic ash over Europe, World Wrestling Entertainment has been forced to reschedule the SmackDown live events at the Olympiahalle in Innsbruck on Saturday, April 17, as well as the Abdi Ipekci Arena in Istanbul on Sunday, April 18.

While WWE hopes to return to Innsbruck in November, the Istanbul show has been moved to November 2010. More information on the exact rescheduled date will be forthcoming. All tickets purchased for these events will be honoured in November. WWE fans that are unable to attend the rescheduled dates should go to their point of purchase for refunds.

World Wrestling Entertainment would like to thank all of our fans that have purchased tickets for the Innsbruck and Istanbul events, and apologize for the inconvenience.
