I really like the simplicity of this video and it seems to be an approach that has worked very well for you over the past two or so years. While that doesn't sound very complimentary, I think it's very hard to pull off these types of videos as you need a really strong sense of clip and musical selection that keeps the viewer interested, two things you do very well, imo. Thought you profiled AJ's somewhat manic character very well with your song choice and use of footage with your editing being all-around very solid. Very enjoyable video overall.
This was a pretty good watch overall. Thought you profiled Shibata well enough here and your editing was pretty solid though I would say a bit one-dimensional. While the song doesn't offer much as the rhythm is pretty monotone, felt you could've done a bit more as your technique got stale after a while. Thought you tried to do something a little different once the chorus hit, but the glitch effect wasn't enough as you didn't really change your technique much during that section. Your editing wasn't bad by any means, just wished there was more there as it got repetitive after a while. Solid video overall.
Thought what you did during I'd say the first half of your video served very little purpose. Highlighting the incident had absolutely nothing to do with her career, the storyline and while there's some context from the incident on why the match happened, didn't feel it was important enough to structure your video off it. Just a big stretch to add it and tone-deaf to be honest. Everything done after that was ok, decently edited but had some serious audio issues that basically muted a lot of the voiceovers you used. The song itself rung my eardrums at times, so leveling your voiceovers with the music is very important. There was also a 15-second finish that you literally left blank. Don't know what to say in regard to that besides it coming off as being lazy.
There's very little to like in this video. Strangely enough, your editing was the strongest I've seen from you, but it lacks interest, structuring was really messy, audio editing wasn't great and you didn't have a conclusive ending. A decent second half with your match recap standing out, just doesn't save a lot of the mistakes made. A very weird video to say the least.
Resolution: I really enjoyed the way you used the lyrics to drive some explanation on the character of Black. From his NXT run, NXT title loss and eventual 'heel' run, everything fit in context with the song choice without it feeling forced. Thought you did a very commendable job of structuring your video as everything that was shown had purpose, imo. Thought your vfx were great and fit very well. Feel it goes unappreciated how well you're able to pull these off in your videos and feel you've stepped it up in your last two videos. While I thought it was more visually about ascetically looking nice in your Rollins video, thought you used them to your advantage here to drive your music video and the character of Black.
Thought your editing here was pretty good though I do feel you lose some control when the pace picks up. While editing in 25 fps can forgive a lot of the overly sped-up clips at times, think it's something that you need to slow down on a bit. Especially with action clips as it makes it hard to see what's going on. Didn't have any other issues with your technique but wanted to bring that up as it seems to be a habit of yours. A fairly minor thing that I think is an easy fix, especially considering your experience. Very enjoyable video overall.
Resolution: Every time man, EVERY TIME you leave me in awe. This video is unbelievable. I've seen numerous Aleister Black videos at this point and I find most of them boring lol (they tend to cover his story in a very unoriginal way). But yours was super fun, creative, and it the video went by way too quick. I thinks that's cause of your slick editing and incredible use of effects. The effects in this don't overshadow the clips, but they stand out cause of how unique they look and how well you make them. AND THOSE HEART VISUALS!!! Jeez, I love how you incorporated those visuals. I feel like most editors would try to make theminto an overlay and maybe try to superimpose it over another clip. But your decision to leave the visuals as it is made it stand out more and imo it was probably the most memorable images of this video (along with the 0:52-0:54 section).
Even though you included most of his storylines since he got to WWE in a short amount of time, this was very easy to follow with the transitions from one storyline to another being done well and it never felt like there was too much going on.
Love love LOVE the flashbacks to all the issues Aleister had at 1:50 that made him transition into a "heel". And the heart bursting was a beautiful symbolism of this transformation into a bad guy. And the last image with the black heart was too damn good.
Vote - Arguden, Blackie, and sts brought amazing videos but Resolution's video was on another level.
