What are your thoughts on the recent PPV? Did the virtual crowd help?

I thought the show was fun.

Asuka vs Banks was the match of the night for me.

Rollins vs Dominik was way better than I expected it to be. Really enjoyed the story they told.

Mcintyre vs Orton was also really good. I have hated watching orton matches for the last few years but for whatever reason Randy firing on all cylinders lately.

Nice to see Roman back. Is he a heel now?

I think the virtual crowd helped in a sense.

WWE and wrestling in general has been in rough spot without crowds and to be fair it isn’t anyone’s fault.

The Pandemic era has definitely been interesting.

I’m curious to see how they continue to evolve the concept of the Thunderdome.

I’m also curious to see if I can stop making Mad Max references but I doubt it.

I didn't watch, but saw some clips. I think the virtual crowd is a miss--not really adding much. I do think that the larger arena helps a ton. Simply having the larger area with great light production would do just fine. I find the squares of peoples faces with headphones on to be awkward to look at.

Those examples aren't what I would consider entertaining, especially the Velveteen one, but ok.

The Velveteen one was from some guy I know from twitter and he was tweeting about it before so I guess that's what made it entertaining for me, I really don't see the screens working out as there was literally some execution clip on one of them at the retribution attack but they changed then angles before anything harmful was on screen. People are easily getting away with it too as all they have to use is fake details and a VPN.

Have to do a better job of vetting the audience as I personally think the virtual audience helps. Only the third show though, so have to get better if it is around for the near future.

well the way it is being in the audience though really doesn't seem all well. throughout the show they are pretty much told chants, when to cheer etc the whole thing just has it's ups and downs. I think what Pick said about it just being an empty arena with great production would be better off, the thunderdome just seems to forced but as you said see how it goes. The way they mute the actual show when they are saying something to the audience as well is just something that isn't pleasing whatsoever

Lmao

This is what Michael Cole wants to tell us every night.

I like the dome. It translates well on TV. I saw a screen shot and thought it was a real crowd. I can't hate it.

That's to be expected or at least I knew it based on the reactions compared to Smackdown. I don't think it's a bad thing to do that though interrupting the audio can be discouraging if it's done during promo's.

I got told that the mics were being constantly, at moments like roman coming out, they stopped the mic to say how to react, every time an entrance theme hits etc, I think as a whole it's discouraging as going to an event live you aren't interrupted at all you are just there to enjoy yourself, where as you are being told what to do every 5 minutes which just doesn't give it the same feel as an actual audience.

Live audiences are also encouraged to react as well when inside arenas, this way is just a bit disrupting. It's a new concept though so hope it gets better without literally disrupting shows live.

A pretty good show overall. Having the Thunderdome format boosted the show a bunch for me and all the in ring matches, minus the main event, were enjoyable.

Producers telling the thunderdome people to react makes perfect sense since the base level reaction is going to be a mid reaction, even if the match finish is mid or better.

Definitely gotta vet people better.

That clip with the "producer" sounds really fake. Is it? It has to be?

It's nothing new for audiences to be told when/how to react. so I can't hate on that. It's interesting but unfortunately I had a feeling wrestling fans couldn't be trusted. I haven't heard/seen of any issues with the NBA and their virtual fans. but that might be comparing apples to oranges.
